Alex Pereira vs Israel Adesanya 2 date: UK start time, full fight card, live stream and how to follo

Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya will meet again at UFC 287 this weekend after ‘Poatan’ stunned his huge rival by knockout last year.

Pereira became the new middleweight champion after handing Adesanya only the second defeat of his career at UFC 281.

The Brazilian knocked out his long-time foe in the final round as the referee was forced to step in and stop the fight with Adesanya rocked by a flurry of punches.

The pair now clash again with Pereira defending his belt for the first time after improving his MMA record to 7-1.

This will be the fourth time in total that the rivals have met with ‘The Last Style Bender’ being beaten twice in kickboxing and now looking to prevent a second defeat in the octagon.

Pereira vs Adesanya 2: What has been said?

Adesanya: “I’m hunting, and I mean that in every sense of the word.

“The mindset is different, definitely. I like it because it puts it all on me, and it’s kind of poetic in a way. One life: Roll the dice.

“This is my last shot, and I’m going to give to it all I’ve got in every sense of the word.”

Adesanya’s trainer Eugene Bareman: “If I had a choice, which I quite often don’t, then I would probably have waited longer just to give Israel a little bit more time between a stoppage like that and the next fight.

“Even in an ideal world I would have done what they do in boxing. I would have brought in a couple of guys for Israel to warm up on and then fight [Pereira].

"In the UFC, we don’t have that choice and, quite frankly, Israel is 100 percent adamant that he must be the next person to fight Alex Pereira. Beyond all doubt.

“I would have been happy with May, June, but give or take, I’m okay with the timeline that we have. Izzy has been training for a while now, so we’re in our usual frame of mind and our usual state.”
