WHERE TO FIND THE BEST AIRPODS DEALS THIS BOXING DAY

The Australian Apple Store typically does not offer discounts, even during major sales events, making third-party retailers the ones to watch this Boxing Day.

Given that it now has an official Apple Store on its site, Amazon Australia is a top retailer to watch for significant AirPods deals. We’re also expecting to see AirPods discounted on sites like eBay Australia, Catch, MyDeal and JB Hi-Fi.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AIRPODS MODELS?

Over the years, Apple has expanded its line to include several different AirPods models. Currently, you can choose between the AirPods (2nd Gen) with either a standard or wireless charging case, the AirPods (3rd Gen), the standard AirPods Pro, the AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) or the AirPods Max.

The AirPods (2nd Gen) are the standard option from the range and arrive with a universal design, hands-free voice assistance from Siri and around five hours of battery life (or more than 24-hours with either charging case).

The AirPods (3rd Gen) are a nice step up from the (2nd Gen) model, offering a contoured design for a better fit, a wireless charging case and six hours of battery life (or up to 30-hours with the charging case).

The standard AirPods Pro feature shorter stems than the original AirPods, are more discrete in design and come in a shorter, wider charging case that is able to be charged wirelessly. They also arrive with three flexible silicone ear tip sizes, noise cancellation capabilities and up to four and a half hours of battery life (or 24-hours with the charging case).

While there’s little difference between the standard AirPods Pro and AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) in terms of features and design, the 2nd generation comes with better audio capabilities, double the noise cancellation power, a longer battery life and more ear tips for a better fit.

The AirPods Max are the first over-ear headphones from the AirPods line and are currently some of the best wireless over-ear headphones on the market. Similar to the AirPods Pro, the AirPods Max feature both noise cancelling and a Transparency mode. According to Apple, the pair boast up to 20 hours of listening time off a single charge too, making them a great travel companion.
