Brad Pitt was not in attendance at the BAFTAs but it turns out that he had a good reason why! Apparently, the actor just dropped everything to have a reunion with his oldest child, son Maddox, when the 18 year old reached out to him.
After all, it’s no secret that their relationship has been pretty bad so it makes sense that Brad would take any opportunity to patch things up with him.
Brad Pitt won a BAFTA award in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role in Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood.
However, he was nowhere to be found at the awards show and instead, his co-star Margot Robbie was the one to accent the honor in his name.
Brad cited a ‘family obligation’ as the reason why he was absent from the event and now, one insider claims to know what the said obligation was.
The source tells The Sun that ‘Maddox gave Brad the chance to talk and he dropped everything.’
They went on to dish that Brad immediately canceled his flight to London when he heard that Maddox wanted to meet up and have a father-son chat.
It’s believed that their relationship was ruined back in 2016 following a reported private plane incident.
At the time, the actor was accused of being ‘physically abusive’ with Maddox and that was also what then led to Angelina Jolie filing for divorce.
While he was ultimately cleared of the charges following an FBI investigation, it appears that the father and son are still on bad terms.
The insider explained that ‘Being a father is the most important thing in [Brad’s] life and he would do anything to repair their relationship.’
As for Angelina, she has apparently promised to stay out of it and let them repair it by themselves.
